An Extraordinary meeting of Odstock Parish Council was held on 23
March 2020 in the Barker Room, near Nunton Church.
Present: Sally Nelson (Chairman), Nigel Start (Vice-Chairman),
Rod Poynting, Stephen Stapley, Wiltshire Cllr Richard Clewer and
no members of the public.
Apologies Accepted: Colin Berry, Thomas Newman,
Barry Norris and Richard Parsons (Clerk).
12/20 Open Public Forum: None.
13/20 Declaration of Interest: None.
14/20 Minutes of the Ordinary OPC meeting held
on 10 February were approved and signed by the Chairman.
15/20 Community Initiatives:
a) COVID-19 (Coronavirus) epidemic: Cllr Nelson and Cllr
Start reported the arrangements being put in place across the
parish for community support of vulnerable resident during the
epidemic. Contact names and numbers of coordinators and
volunteers would be published in News and Notes, and on the Five
Villages Facebook page.
16/20 Nunton Recreation Field:
a) Play Area: The summary of playground estimates
prepared by Cllr Stapley was considered. After discussion of the
three quotations, and taking account of the views of those
councillors not present, it was agreed that the quotation
submitted by Proludic will be accepted. Cllr Nelson agreed to
obtain clarification and potential reduction of the charges
quoted for delivery and Prelims. She also agreed to contact the
Longford Estate to arrange removal of the existing playground
equipment and fence.
17/20 Planning: 20/01243/FUL - Two storey
extension to outbuilding at Springfield House, Nunton. SP5 4HP.
Cllr Nelson reported that she had spoken to the owners of the
adjacent property at Lower Nunton Farmhouse Cottage and Barn, and
they have no objection to the proposed extension. It was agreed
that OPC will support the planning application without further
comment.
18/20 The Annual Parish Meeting scheduled for 18 May is unlikely
to be held due the Coronavirus crisis. The Annual Parish Council
meeting scheduled for 18 May will likely need to be held online.
