Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires that all UK public bodies, including Odstock Parish Council, will respond to requests for information which it holds in a timely manner.

The Act is designed to:

Model Publication Scheme

The Act requires the maintenance a Model Publication Scheme which sets out the types of information held and how this information can be accessed. Odstock Parish Council aims to make as much of its information easily available as possible without the need for making specific requests, subject to any information considered to be exempt under Part II of the Act.

The Odstock Parish Council Publication Scheme explains the Council's policies and the Council's interpretation of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as it relates to Parish Councils in England. In response to a Freedom of Information request, Odstock Parish Council is obliged to state whether or not the information is held and in what format the information can be made available.
